Japan is a country with real depth of experiences and is one of Your Endless Travel top 5 must-visit countries, and here's why...
All of these experiences and more sandwiched between the northern region of Hokkaido layered with the deepest snow in the winter and the beautiful southern islands of Okinawa, famous for its beaches and scuba diving.
At Your Endless Travel, we have a strong love towards Japan as our wanderlust founder spent 12 months living in this beautiful country. He spent the winter working in the Hokkaido skiing and snowboarding in waist-deep snow, guiding international visitors around the streets of Tokyo in go-karts through the spring, finishing with a summer working for a scuba dive centre in Okinawa. He was also lucky enough to manage tour groups around the Land of the Rising Sun for 8 weeks for the Rugby World Cup in 2019, so it’s safe to say we know how to travel Japan!
Partner this experience and knowledge alongside our local operators and suppliers you can have full confidence of an unrivalled Japan Holiday.
Planning any holiday can cause headaches when you delve into the depths of what a country can offer, and Japan is without a doubt the best one you can have, purely because there is so much to see and do across its broad spectrum of history and culture. One moment you can be in the middle of 1,000 people trying to cross Shibuya Crossing Tokyo, the next you can be sat in the peaceful Imperial Gardens in the Ginza district. Surround this by the kind and polite nature of the Japanese people and some of the best cuisine in the world; you will not want to leave at the end of your Japan holiday.
Begin your Endless experience with a personal consultation where we will get to know you, what you enjoy most on your travels and what you want to get out of your holiday. We will then provide our best suggestions. The best bit is we can bring our agency to the comfort of your living room and talk through your travel options via phone or video call (the choice is yours).
Find out more below about some of Japans most infamous cities and regions:
Tokyo: The metropolis of Japan, with its groundbreaking technology, the hustle and bustle blend of business people and tourists, bright lights and great eats, traditions, temples and sumos all nestled within a short journey of Mount Fuji is only part of what the worlds largest city has to offer.
Kyoto: Until 1868 was better known as the capital of Japan with it being the home of the Emperor. Now famous for its abundance of traditional temples and shrines, the beautiful Geisha district and the only city in Japan where no building will be taller than 3 stories to protect its historical monuments, Kyoto is a must-see for Japanese traditional history.
Osaka: A city where you can spend all day riding broomsticks with Harry Potter at Universal Studios and be up all night in the bright neon lights of DÅtonbori district, like Tokyo this is a city that never sleeps. Lesser known, Osaka is the comedy centre of Japan so try catching a local (English speaking) stand up show during your stay.
Kanazawa: One of our favourite cities in Japan, with its later developments there is a real blend of old and new. One moment you are walking in the central shopping district next to H&M, you turn down a side street and all of a sudden you are in a traditional eatery region where you can only fit 4 people in a ‘restaurant’.
Hiroshima: Famous in its own right for its harrowing atomic bomb history, Hiroshima is now a beautiful beacon of Japans resilience. It offers a fantastic attraction that you must see on your Japan holiday. With its Memorial Peace Park and Zen Gardens, you can’t help but reflect in this national treasure region.
Hokkaido: The Western Canada of Japan, the north island is ideal for road trips in both winter or summer. Regularly seeing more than 15 meters of snow over four months, it makes it the perfect location for those winter holidays. In the spring and summer it is rich with wildlife and shrubbery, it also a hidden gem for those avid golfers through the summer months with vibrant green courses.
Okinawa: The hidden gem of the Pacific Ocean, the Okinawan Islands present an exciting mix of traditional Japanese culture with a firm flex of American influence. These tropical islands offer white-sand beaches, rich forestry and hiking offering some of the most unknown exotic scuba dive regions. However, since the integration of USA military bases following WWII, you can experience high levels of western cultures as well as cuisine.
