Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Fly from the UK to Miami, Florida. You have a range of options to fly with British Airways or Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow/Gatwick or Manchester direct. On arrival in Miami, you will collect your rental car and travel to your first accommodation in Key Largo. You will likely arrive late afternoon so take the evening to get to know your new surroundings.
Overnight: Junior Suite, Bakers Cay Resort or Similar
Day 2 & 3: You have the next few days to explore Key Largo and its surroundings. We recommend exploring John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. You will be able to enjoy the Park's popular water activities, including viewing the reef on a glass-bottom boat or snorkel and scuba tours, as well as canoeing and kayaking on mangrove-lined waterways. Along with checking our some of the regions best restaurants.
Overnight: Junior Suite, Bakers Cay Resort or Similar
Day 4 to 6: Check out of your accommodation and drive to your next spot along the Overseas Highway, Marathon. You will check into the stunning Faro Blanco Yacht Club and explore this stunning region. We recommend you Start at Theater of the Sea. Your general admission ticket includes dolphin, sea lion and parrot shows, a guided tour of marine life exhibits, lagoon-type beach and the bottomless boat ride. If you like to get the sand between your toes, then head to Annes beach on Islamorada.This small beach offers a scenic walkway and great views of the shallows surrounding Islamorada. Pack a picnic and spend hours of fun in the sun.
Overnight: Superior Room at Faro Blanco Yatch Club, Marathon.
Day 7 to 9: No trip to the Florida Keys would be complete without experiencing the southern most point in Key West. Along the way feel free to explore the Lower Keys, particularly at Bahia Honda State Park. Featuring an award-winning beach and historic bridge, Bahia Honda State Park has been voted as one of the top ten beaches in the US. This state park offers a beach/picnic area for the entire family with gift shop, snack bar, kayak rentals, daily snorkeling tours to the protected Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary. Once you arrive in Key West, stroll along Mallory Square and enjoy the nightly Sunset Celebration with arts and crafts exhibitors, street performers, food carts and psychics. The Mallory Square Sunset Performers put on a show every night, 365 days a year and it is free. Also, make sure you try the world-renowned Key Lime Pie while you are in town!
Overnight: Standard Room, The Gates Hotel Key West
Day 10: Unfortunately, the day has come to say goodbye to The Keys and head back to Miami airport. After dropping your car off, you can board your flight and head home. Flights from Miami back to the UK are usually overnight.
